Setting SMART Goals + My Goals

Do you know one of the tendencies all lady bosses share? The knack for setting SMART goals!

Any successful person will tell you that goals are an absolute necessity. Setting goals are equivalent to setting stepping stones to success. Goals provide a path flooded with focus and vision. Goals and the process of achieving them detail short-term desires and motives translated into long-term learning and success.

No matter how good a goal may seem, they won't get you to where you want to be if not SMART.

Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely

Setting SMART goals balances the idealist and realist, and turns the dreamer into a doer.

It is not enough to just think about a goal. Thoughts are often pushed aside, avoided, and are surrounded by excuses. Inevitably that retroactivity equates those thoughts to just dreams. I once read that “A dream without a plan is just a wish." and "A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.” I can’t say enough how true this is. That is why I urge everyone to set SMART goals!

Setting SMART goals, specifically by writing out a detailed plan following the acronym will turn those dreams into realistic goals! The act of writing goals out and physically putting your hopes into the universe will add fuel to that internal blaze of ambition. With the specificity required to meet the standards of a SMART goal, regarding time frame and criteria, will also hold you accountable for your actions and progress. SMART really is smart! Just remember as you're setting goals, don't manifest one that induces too much stress that end up making you worse for wear, but also don't sell yourself short in your abilities and know that you are capable and deserving of achieving your dreams.

No matter what, SMART goals are a surefire way to success. While not every goal can be achieved, not even all SMART ones, due to forces often unknown to us, the insight and learning that can be had from the simple act of realistically planning and tracking dreams makes any scenario a success in my eyes. Even a missed mark is just an opportunity to take experience and knowledge from that process and reevaluate our course of action in order to continue forward as the best versions of ourselves.

Remember to Review, Reward, and Rewrite goals on your path to success.

Think SMART and you're all set, my friend! :)
