Tag Tuesday: The Beauty Blogger Tag

As far as I know, "Tag Tuesday" isn't actually a thing. Maybe it should be, though! It wouldn't have to be something done every week, but rather a designated day... 

Never mind that tangent. We're all probably better off doing them whenever. I was just trying to think of a creative title that flows off the tongue, and there ya go. I'm a strong supporter of alliterations!

I've seen this tag circulating around the blogosphere on several occasions and figured why not complete it myself. I wouldn't consider myself strictly a beauty blogger, as it's just one subject I'm interesting in, but I thought it'd be nice to give more insight into that side of me. Really this is an opportunity for y'all to get to know me better!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

My hair is in between- it’s wavy. It is gradually getting straighter and straighter, though.

2. What is your natural hair colour?

Medium Ash Brown.  It looks lighter or darker in various lighting. Occasionally I have a ging ting, too. Just call me the chameleon.

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I do not currently dye my hair; though I've been considering getting it two shades darker next time I visit the salon. Either that or ombre, but I’m still waiting for my hair to grow out longer.

4. How often do you wash your hair?

Every morning. I know you’re not supposed to, but if I don’t then my hair gets oily. Yes, that quickly even.

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?

I’m assuming this question is still regarding hair. That would be a no. I have a few key styles that I tend to sport, but usually I try to mix it up each day.  Though I must admit I have that stretch of days where I do whatever is easiest and say, “Good enough.” Every now and again I try to branch away from my main ‘dos to jazz it up a bit, too.

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I do my own. Always have. Probably always will. I find it relaxing and therapeutic just focusing at this one task at hand and not worrying about anything else. It’s a way to keep my mind preoccupied. Plus, I like to experiment and practice, so I can become a better nail artist.

7. How often to you change your nail polish?

About every 2-3 weeks. This all depends on chipping. Usually I try to do touch-ups and salvage the polish as best as I can. This is especially the case when I don’t have much time for said primping.

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?

Only during the spring and summer. It then tends to last through part of fall.  If my toenails look wretched during the winter (from skiing and dance), then I will slap on a bit of polish. I tend to walk around my house barefoot even during the chilly winter, and I wouldn't want the people dallying around to be appalled by my feet.

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?

45 minutes to an hour because I’m lazy, become bored, or get frustrated and walk away. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, chiefly in regards to my brows and lashes. (I hope I’m not the only one like this!)

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Face- I get the less stressful and tedious part out of the way immediately.

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

Most times I buy what I need. Sometimes I splurge and purchase products that aren't a necessity, but want to try.  From this habit I have a petite collection that is surely growing.

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

Almost never. I believe I've only worn them twice.

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?

Yes, because without it I don’t feel comfortable or complete. Though each region of my face has makeup on it for every day, it is usually light. Just enough to cover up blemishes and slightly enhance features.

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?

When I’m home alone, more often than not, I chose the naked face route.  I do this even around my immediate family.  This is only the case when I know I’m going to be a hermit and stay in all day and I know I won’t have any visitors, though.

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?

If I go out for a run, then yes. Generally I try to have a bit of foundation and mascara on when I go out to run errands.

16. How many high end products do you have?

3 (possibly more??)

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

I don’t have a set pattern. I’m more of the person that says, “Hey, that brush is getting cakey! I ought to clean it.”

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

A little of both. This depends on many factors- tiredness, motivation, what is this OOTD for, etc.

19. How often do you change your handbag?

For every season, at least. Every now and again, mid-season, I’ll swap bags.

20. What time do you get up & go to sleep?

Getting up:

Weekdays: 4:00 am     Weekends: 9:30 am

Going to sleep:

Weekdays: 11:00 pm  Weekends: Whenever I feel like it!

21. How often & when do you work out?

Lately, I haven’t been working out as much as I used to. I used to go to the gym 3-5 times a week. I took dance classes, too. I’d also have a show that’d I be in, which would require me to be fit. But I’m not in a show at the moment, I am not enrolled in a dance class now, and I don’t feel like driving 40 minutes to get to the gym. Due to these factors, my physical activity has decreased greatly. At least once a week, I’ll either bike around my town for 14 miles or take a hike for 6+ miles, though.

23. How tall are you?

5’6”

24. Do you speak a foreign language?

I’d like to say yes because I took 3 years of Spanish in school; however I've forgotten the majority of it and to begin with, I didn't understand most of it. I am learning German and ASL (American Sign Language), though!

25. How many pets do you have?

2! A chocolate lab and a beta fish.

26. How often are you on Blogger?

Lately, every day; however we all know that was not the case for the past few months. I was very sporadic with my “logins,” but now I’ll hop on just to check out other blogs if nothing else.

27. Do you read the comments posted on your blog?

Of course! The least I can do is take a bit of time out of my day to read and reply back; after all, you took time out to comment! Plus, reading everyone’s comments makes me smile. :)

28. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

I do!

29. How did you come up with your blog name?

My name is Molly (shocker). My last name starts with a “M,” (Miss) Molly Mac is my nickname, and I like MAC products, hence the Mac!

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?

Olympus XZ-10 iHS

I’m hoping to purchase a Canon EOS of some kind, soon. If you have any camera recommendations, do let me know in the comments!!

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)

Depends on the work. Dishes, general tidying, laundry, and smaller tasks like those are daily. Vacuuming is done every couple of days to keep the dust and allergens away (fun fact: I have a super annoying dust mite allergy).

32. What is your favourite colour?

Hmmm, this depends on the season. Burgundy, sea foam green, mint, and coral are my favourites.

33. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?

Vogue and Allure

34. Do you swear?

You bet your f***ing a** I do. (teehee) I’m not that bad. On occasion I will. When I’m passionate (/arguing) about what I’m talking about, or talking to someone I feel comfortable with, then they tend to slip out. I’m of Irish descent. What can I say?

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

I’ll probably go read other blogs, a book, and maybe clean/rearrange my bedroom.
