On My Radar

Happy New Year! This is the first post of the new year and it's hard to believe how much has already happened in 2021. It's been a difficult start to say the least, and we're only 10 days in! On a more positive note, there are still little joys to appreciate here and there... or I keep telling myself that anyway.

In all honesty I have been a bit down lately, but brainstorming about this "On My Radar" post has created a moment of happiness. These sorts of posts force me to reflect and think about the things that bring light and contentment to my life. And each one is different, which just goes to show all of the joy that can be found around when willing to look!

1. The Chateau Diaries

I have been subscribed to this channel for over a year now, and it's been so incredible to follow the journey of Stephanie and the crew. From maintaining and restoring Chateau de Lalande to getting a glimpse into French life, and all the beautiful moments in between- I can't get enough of these vlogs! Someday I hope to volunteer there even! Would definitely recommend subscribing to this channel.

2. Walmart Decor

With a recent move and trying to ball on a budget with student loans, I've been on a quest for reasonably priced decor. While buying second hand has been great for this, shopping online at Walmart has been a game changer. There are countless pieces at different price points and styles. My goal is to create a timeless space with the occasional transitional/modern element, and I've found most pieces up to this point online there. The gorgeous chinoiserie stool above is sold on Walmart's site!

3. Shreddy App

For Christmas, my lovely friend gifted me a subscription to the Shreddy app. We've both made it a goal to be more consist with fitness this year, so this app provides a great program to attain that. Plus, we thought it'd be helpful to hold each other accountable and be able to have someone to check in with as we work our way towards meeting our well-being goals.

4. The Mandalorian

If you're a fan of Star Wars, or in the least enjoy some of the movies, this show is a must watch. My boyfriend and I watch it together and end up watching four episodes at a time, as we can't seem to pause it! The storyline is just so captivating.

5. Jigsaw Puzzles

A few weeks back, I felt inspired to take on a puzzle and ended up purchasing a 1,000 piece one. It's proved to be more involved and drawn out than I anticipated, but it's so cathartic trying to complete it. And it's the prettiest scene of a bookshop! Linked here.

What's on your radar?

Sincerely,

  1. You would LOVE the TV series "escape to the Chateau" - it follows a couple who have moved to France to do up a chateau, just like the YouTube series you suggested!
