Instagram Diary: I am a blogger

Several weeks back, when I made my Instagram public to the blogging community, it went through a makeover. I weeded out pictures that I posted just because. For many months I was wrapped up in the "style" of posting of those I followed. Who I followed and my followers where only individuals I know in person. Since my blog is an unknown part of my life to everyone I know, I tried not to let on too much about this side. Due to this, my photo stream and who I followed didn't reflect a large part of who I am.

However I'm at the point where I'm going to share my passions and connect with fellow bloggers regardless of the people who make up a miniscule part of my life. Not worrying about, more or less, strangers from high school and college has greatly improved my Instagramming/social media experience. What I have taken from this is the importance of doing things for myself, and to not dim my inner light because of others; even when it affects something as trivial as social media. ;) Many people I "know" may have unfollowed me, but I gained plenty of followers/friends who share the same enthusiasm I have for beauty, fashion, creativity, and life!

Leave me your Instagram in the comments!

  4. I've done the same thing. Being afraid to branch out and do things differently than your friends. I used to not really talk about my blog because I honestly felt like people would think I'm silly. I've had to put that feeling aside and embrace who I am and what I love. And if others think it's silly, well ok then. But I had to stop lettings their opinions define me. I'm so glad you stopped by my blog! I'm following back via GFC. If you would like, here's my Instagram: ashleighsutlive. I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts.

  5. Before I made my instagram public, it went through a huge makeover as well, but there were some photos I just couldn't delete because memories. Your account looks beautiful! Don't be let down by people unfollowing you if it means you gain like-minded followers who will love your posts! :) My blog is a secret too, and that's how I'll keep it for now, but I admire your bravery!

  6. I have gone and am going through the same thing. Us bloggers need to stick together and keep doing what we love. You are beautiful and should just keep doing whatever the hell you want. These people are not going to matter in 5 years. If you make it a big deal, they will too! You're amazing.. Xo
