Fall Fashion Finds {Classic Style}

'Tis the season for all the layers! And I couldn't be happier about it. Fall is the ideal time of year. With mild to cool temps and a magical transformation among the landscape, this transitional time is my favorite.

Along with the weather, the fashion is my favorite to sport. For whatever reason, I feel most confident in autumnal attire. Perhaps it's because I like my layers and being bundled up, or the fact that this classic style plays to warm neutrals, timeless patterns, and sleek shapes. Over the years I've developed an easy-to-wear fall wardrobe that encapsulates classic staples.

(Items linked in the headings below)
An ode to England. A trench is more than fitting for the New England climate, too. As they tend to not be terribly bulky, they are great for milder days, but can certainly be paired with sweaters for a warmer feel. My go-to place for trench coats are LOFT and Macy's.

Sweaters (Striped & Solid)
Both striped and solid sweaters are a must. How gorgeous is that striped camel one? It plays nicely to a classic pattern and warm color. With both of these sweaters, I adore the mock neckline. As someone who runs cold, that extra bit of fabric is always welcome!

Dress it up or dress it down- white button downs are a must. They are easy-to-throw on pieces to elevate a casual look and provide a bit of refinery. Plus, there are some really comfortable breathable ones on the market now. Target has my fave at the moment... I ended up buying two!

Me? Like stripes? No way... Just kidding! If you've been around long enough, you know I have an abundance of stripes in my closet. What can I say, I like what I like! As I mentioned previously, it is a classic pattern and, in my opinion, is flattering on every body. This one from J. Crew is especially lovely!

*A staple.* There is not much else to say. I tend to prefer dark wash denim anyway, but especially black jeans in the fall and winter. Similar to a button down shirt, these jeans just give a more chic look.

Admittedly, I don't have a pair of these yet; however I can't help but gush over them. They always look so  chic and stylish whenever I see a pin pop up on Pinterest. This style of paints I had previously struck out on. With curvier hips, I felt that the loose fitted style didn't really have the full effect on my body type; however I am determined to find a pair that works and that I feel confident in. Surely there is a brand out there, but if you have any leads, please let me know!! (I've heard great things about Madewell.)

I love a good loafer, and have been loving these mule hybrids. They are so comfy and stylish. Would recommend!

Ah yes, another classic. Ballet flats are a no brainer for year round wear. They are very basic in the sense that they go with anything and everything, and are very comfortable.

Accessories
A capsule wardrobe wouldn't be complete without a few trusty accessories. For the cooler months, I tend to gravitate towards warmer gold jewelry. That's why these funky hoops made the list. These dainty pieces are classic with a twist... literally! This black bag plays to the delicate touch of gold and the structured shape for a chic look, as well. The tortoise shell sunglasses, also, top off a stylish elegant look.

A bright bold red lip is a must for the cooler months. I tend to always pull for this color and absolutely adore MAC lippies. For other lipstick recommendations, check out this video!

What are your staple fall pieces?

Sincerely,
