Preppy in Plaid

This outfit gives me 2014 prep vibes. A sweater paired with a collared shirt and finished off with loafers creates the typical preppy look of the time. To be frank, that pairing is what I envision for a classic prepster 'fit overall and will remain timeless in my books. For whatever reason collars make me think of that point in time, though. Perhaps it's because around that time I was discovering my personal style and diving into classic wear, and collared tops happen to be a staple.

It makes sense why an outfit like this is timeless. With endless sweater options, crisp button downs, and uber comfy pants, it is uniform fit for numerous occasions. This look was certainly ideal for a mild autumn day exploring Woodstock, VT!

Cam and I ventured that way during our staycation a week ago. Over the course of those few days we had a much needed break from work and celebrated his birthday. During that time off, I just had to carve out a day to take a quick road trip to Vermont. These sorts of trips are definitely more my speed just meandering around adorable towns in New England, but I think he appreciated the gorgeous fall scenery.

With the pandemic we opted not to go into any shops, but took the opportunity to get our steps in and stroll the quaint streets. Simple moments like this are what I live for. No timetable, no specific destination, just pure joy. Plus, it was nice taking some photos, too! Some of these photos were for a recent giveaway over on Instagram with Eileen Graphics. Have a look if you'd like!

Overall, it was the perfect little getaway spent in one of my favorite places to visit during the fall. And this may be one of my new favorite outfits!

Sincerely,
